A little girl's room, part 2

We are almost done with her room. I thought I would share the pictures before I forget. I'm really happy about the way it turned out, especially the kitchen.

I can't wait to cook up a storm with her!
It was fun making the art for the room!

The little pelican is in his original spot.

It is so fun to see pink in this closet!

the fourth

We had a great Fourth of July here.  We went to the neighborhood parade and then to grandma's to swim. I even managed to put together a quick holiday craft.

John with his favorite prize, his hat!

Love this.

Waiting for the parade

He is not sure about this yet!

chalk paint

A friend of mine told me about this great kind of paint, chalk paint. She said there was no prep work and the results were amazing. She had me at no prep work.

Unfortunately my laziness comes at a cost. This paint is not cheap. I've spent the last few weeks thinking about it, and at the same time staring at a piece of furniture I bought over a year ago with the intent of painting it.

Luckily, my mom came to the rescue and bought the paint for me as an early birthday present. Thank you mom!  So, I have been busy the last few days painting away.  I still have over 1/2 a can left which I think I might use to paint a bed for Mae's room.  I am also eying some other pieces in the house!

I had not planned on painting this, but then I got carried away with all of the fun.

I love the way it turned out!

You can even paint metal and vinyl.  This was one ugly chair.

I forgot to do a "before" picture and then remembered halfway through.

The final product.  It makes me smile!
