On Wednesday we went to the police station to apply for her visa. We were not allowed to take pictures there. It took about an hour to process all of the families, but each family took about 2 minutes.
On Thursday we visited Mae's orphanage. That is it's own post all together. We could tell she was really loved and that she loved her nannies, so that made us so happy.
On Friday we went to downtown Guangzhou and visited the Guangdong Cultural Musuem. The city is incredible. It really makes Dallas seem like a small town. Everywhere you look there are phenomenal skyscrapers. The Musuem was fantastic, so much rich history. After we got back from the morning trip and rested Joe and I took a taxi to Shaiman Island. It was so beautiful there! I am sure we will go back at least one more time
So happy for your faily! Glad it is going so well! Just so your time line fro TA and departure. This give me hope that we can leave on such short notice if we have too. I know you are busy, but when you have time would love any tips you may have on this experience. Anything I should do in this last month to prepare for such a quick deaprture once we get a CA appt. Currently in the article 5 wait!
ReplyDeleteHi Kellyn,
DeleteI am so excited for you! No great tips. I gathered things in a laundry basket and then had them ready to pack. I didn't really pack until the weekend before we left. One thing I would suggest is to buy a medicine each time you hit the store. It is probably too late to spread out the cost, but all of the lotions, medicines, etc. add up. Best wishes to you! If you have a blog I would love to follow!
Beth, that photo of you and Mae is PRECIOUS! Safe travels to the three of you. I'm sure the other half of your family is beside themselves with excitement!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin! It was so great to see you yesterday!!
