waiting

It has been just a little over a month since our dossier was logged into China. We were originally told it would be about 3-6 month wait to be matched.  That number has now changed to 6-9 months.  I'm trying not to be too bummed about this.  There is always the possibility that it could happen earlier, but I am preparing myself for a longer wait.  In the meantime, I am trying to enjoy our family of five before it changes.  I am also enjoying some of the free time I have now that the boys are a little bit more independent.

may the force be with you...

Last weekend we went to an amazing performance by the Fort Worth Symphony. They performed many of John Williams songs including Indiana Jones, Superman and Star Wars. There was also a laser and firework show.  Both were amazing.

For some reason A wanted his head to be smaller than his grandparents in this picture.  Silly boy.

chalk paint

A friend of mine told me about this great kind of paint, chalk paint. She said there was no prep work and the results were amazing. She had me at no prep work.

Unfortunately my laziness comes at a cost. This paint is not cheap. I've spent the last few weeks thinking about it, and at the same time staring at a piece of furniture I bought over a year ago with the intent of painting it.

Luckily, my mom came to the rescue and bought the paint for me as an early birthday present. Thank you mom!  So, I have been busy the last few days painting away.  I still have over 1/2 a can left which I think I might use to paint a bed for Mae's room.  I am also eying some other pieces in the house!

I had not planned on painting this, but then I got carried away with all of the fun.

I love the way it turned out!

You can even paint metal and vinyl.  This was one ugly chair.

I forgot to do a "before" picture and then remembered halfway through.

The final product.  It makes me smile!

my little big boy!

We are soaking in relaxing mornings and lazy days. We have spent lots of time at home and have yet to venture out on many summer adventures.  The main reason for this is because one amazing little boy is no longer in diapers! We spent last Friday and the weekend working on potty training and for the most part he has got it down!  We are so proud of him!

bracelets

So now that I have a little more free time I have been thinking about my Etsy shop.   I want to make some new things for it and currently I am loving all of these little bracelets.  They are so fun to make because the possibilities are endless.  I don't have any for the shop yet, but I hope to very soon.  Please don't mind the hand in this photo, obviously I was not born to be a hand model!

summer fun ahead

In hopes of doing even half of the fun ideas, projects, trips, and chores we have planned for the summer it really helps me have a list going. Plus, I just love checking things off.  So here it is our summer bucket list created by the entire family.

I realize I have no control over the last one, but a little wishful thinking never hurts!
